Mission

When the word came down that a sequel to the smash hit animated series Codename: Kids Next Door was in development, I was very ecstatic and wanted to contribute to it. Though the first pitch has not gathered Cartoon Network's interest, Warburton and other KND cast and crew members have repeatedly expressed hope in greenlighting the show. Given that most of my generation grew up watching the original Kids Next Door, I jumped to the opportunity to design a logo for the series, with an intent to use it in future pitches and eventually the final show.

Vision

I wanted to make a logo that captured the magic of the original Kids Next Door series yet also be its own thing at the same time.

I remembered that the story was about Numbuh 1 and his journey into a symbol of hope and justice and learning to accept growing up from whatever footage I could see. And I recognized Batman as an example of that symbol, and the parallels became very smooth.

The result was a mix between the Batsymbol and Numbuh 1's Angels pose from the original KND logo, a perfect rendition of a would be hope bringer for people of all ages.

As for the wordmark, I wanted to give it independence from all the other elements of the logo. They'll still be used together in certain branding.

I had also made a logo design for racing games based on GKND should it get to that point in history where racing games are possible for the franchise.
