HEY ARNOLD! 30th ANNIVERSARY
Logo design to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Hey Arnold!.
Clients: Craig Bartlett, Nickelodeon
Designer: Chris L.

Mission
On October 7, 1996, animator Craig Bartlett unleashed his creation, Hey Arnold!, to the masses watching Nickelodeon. A slice-of-life cartoon about the adventures of a football-headed city boy would go on to become one of the greatest Nicktoons of all time. Now, 30 years later, fans, cast and crew alike are preparing a celebration of epic proportions for such a legendary cartoon series.
Vision
As an avid fan of Hey Arnold!, I had plenty of ideas to choose from.
The overall concept was to make the zero for "30" interactive with a specific object - specifically to contain it so it appears as part of the logo.
I thought of many ideas of who could appear in the zero. Arnold, Helga, Gerald, Abner... Basketballs, the silhouette of Hillwood's skyline, an Elk Island badge...
In the end, I made the zero Helga's locket, an object that became almost as iconic as the character who owns it... and the person of her romantic interest who just so happens to appear on that object.
In my case, it took down two birds with one stone, because I get to have a character AND an object for the zero. That, in my books, would be sheer genius to pull off for a logo design.
